Nigeria grew quickly during the seventies
oil boom. We hope to avoid the chaotic traffic in Lagos,
but we may have to go there for visas (shown in dotted
line). Otherwise, we head straight for Kano, the capital
of the Hausa trading empire and home of the great Northern
Emirs. The indigo dye pits here are over 1000 years
old. We will also see groundnuts piled into pyramid
shapes, each one weighing over 700 tons.

caves. Visited springs and got mobbed by locals wanting
pictures.
