Back in Athens, we rented a car and risked our lives by driving on Greek
roads; stop signs, traffic lights, and speed limits are suggestions rather
than law. We needed a mechanical stiff arm mounted on the car for Athens
driving. First, we drove a few hours to Delphi, home of the famous future-revealing
Oracle. It's nothing but ruins now. America would have turned this place
into a water park, with an actor in a Socrates costume walking around
for pictures. After sweating up the hill in Delphi, we drove another 4
hours north to visit Meteora. Here, the landscape is reminiscent of Yangshuo,
except large monasteries are built on top of the rock formations. It's
stunning scenery and Ryan thinks this is the best he's seen in Greece. |
