Not content with leading us astray in the woods yesterday, I led us on an ill fated bicycle ride into the Blois countryside. We were trying to bike 16 km to the Chateau de Chambord, but the wind and clunky bikes exhausted us after only 4 km. Then it rained. Looking like bedraggled cats, we biked back and caught the noon train to Paris and better weather. After deciphering the metro's automatic ticket machines and stopping in souvenir shops to read city maps that we were too cheap to buy, we found our hotel. We visited the Eiffel tower first. It's a great place to start a Paris visit because the view provides a good city orientation.

Goodbye Blois, hello Paris...
