Following our Lonely Planet book, we went on another 5 hour death march hike around Amboise. Leonardo da Vinci's last house, Le Clos, provided the hike's highlight. In stark contrast to da Vinci's genius, I got us lost in the woods around Amboise. After finding our way back, we hopped on a train to Blois, which sounds similar to Amboise, but is better to visit because there is more to see. The town remains medieval in layout, with narrow and steeply twisting streets that create a small, old city atmosphere.

Confounded map!

Another chateau. These kings really knew how to live!

Blois (pronounced 'blwah') is even more fun to say than visit
