Previous Day September 27, 2000 Next Day
Since we've seen big and small Austrian towns, we decided to visit a medium sized one: Salzburg. This proved to be a good choice. With its active atmosphere, many museums, and large castle looming on the skyline, Salzburg offers the cosmopolitan feel of Vienna. Salzburg also manages to retain a "small town" quality that Vienna lacks. No wonder Mozart loved this city as his home. After exploring the city, we ended the day with dinner and beers at a youth hostel, mingling amongst a younger crowd and feeling like we were in college again.

Riding EuroRail is easy, except when you can't find your train and no one speaks English!

Not another day with these clothes, please!
