Next Day
This morning we entered Cameroon. First, we exchanged Nigerian Naira for central African CFAs (currency shared by Cameroon, Chad, Central African Republic, and Gabon). Besides the abrupt language change from English to French, we don't see any dramatic change right away. We passed fewer police checkpoints, but police officers stopped us as in Nigeria and asked to see our papers. Police here wear bright red berets. They can't be missed along the drab yellow grass that lines the road and spreads from either side like a yellow sea. By nightfall we reached a picturesque spot called Waza, which was a scenic spot to spend our first night stay in Cameroon.
Sunrise at our camp in Waza National Park, Cameroon.
