We explored Khorgo Terkh park's famous sites - an extinct volcano and a large lake. The lava flow created a ribbon of black rocks that sealed off a river and created the lake. After our morning ride we said goodbye to our horses today, a bittersweet moment: our backsides rejoiced while our hearts fell.
The volcano has shaped the landscape for miles around, it's a geological wonder. My horse seemed unimpressed.
Incredible fishing. I caught 5 of these pike in an hour until this last one broke my lure with its large teeth. We needed the fish; a thundershower washed out our tent area so we traded the fish for a night in the permanent ger camp nearby, that saved us a few dollars and kept us dry.
