Thyangboche to Dingboche: We walked through rhododendron forests alive with red, white, and yellow colors. Without cars or trucks, people use yaks to carry cargo. We ran into several yak traffic jams on the trail which proved that traffic can be congested even in the remotest areas. By the end of today's trek we reached Dingboche (4343 meters) and left all trees behind since large vegetation cannot grow at these altitudes.
In May the rhododendron trees are in full blossom and their flowers cover the ground.
Heavy yak traffic on the trail.
