What do you do if you find lion tracks around camp? Follow them, of course.
The tracks led to these three young males. They growled at our vehicle and mock-charged. Jane says they're young and aggressive, curious about vehicles and testing to see whether or not we are worth eating.
Zebras make good meals for lions. While the three males kept the zebra's attention, their mother slinked off and tried to come from behind. But these zebras were too experienced to hang around for long; they ran off before they became lunch.
Jane knows these lions well. She says they specialize in giraffe hunting. The mother single-clawedly took down this full grown giraffe last week to provide food for herself and the boys. She's done quite a job to raise three cubs on her own.
