For the first time we saw the Okavango, a river which starts in Angola, gets lost, and ends up flooding 6000 square mile area in the upper Kalahari; the Okavango river never reaches the sea. Instead, it has created the world's largest inland delta. We flew to Seringo, a village in northernmost region of the Delta.
Luckily this crazy person is a fellow passenger and not our pilot.
Meandering Okavango river.
The rest of our transport around the delta will be by mokoro (dugout canoe), which are poled through the waterways by experienced guides, not landlubbers like Patty and Jill.
An experienced poler guide, William. He's a man of few words, but we're glad we never heard him say swim.
