We finished the Garden Route on a four hour drive from Mossel Bay to Cape Town. The huge tracts of farmland surprised us. Farmland greenery surrounded us during today's entire journey. We even saw tracts of pine and eucalyptus, trees we don't usually associate with Africa. Grazing ostriches instead of cows provided the main visual difference from a US farmland scene.
Ostrich herds instead of cow herds graze the fields.
We drove through the mountains that hem in coastal clouds, keeping the coast moist and the Garden Route green.
