From Qatar we flew into Bahrain, a small island nation in the Persian Gulf. Thirty-three islands form the country, most are specks of sand and the largest, Bahrain island, only measures 50 x 16 km. The King considered carpeting the whole thing with Persian rugs. For us, political tensions make matters uncomfortable. People drape Palestinian flags over balconies and write anti-American graffiti all over town.
A family woman drove this car. Her little kid peered at us from the passenger seat.
Braiding hair - so that's the style they wear underneath the veils.
