To see King Tut, we fought crowds to enter the Egyptian museum. This building displays stunning artifacts in a disorganized, absent-minded fashion. Every other exhibit offers a cursory explanation written in bad English on a faded index card. Unless the artifact came from a French excavation, then it’s displayed with a French index card. For evening entertainment we shopped in the Khan el Khalili, Cairo’s souq, If a person asks “Where are you from?” or “How are you?” he really means, “Please buy something.”
Love the sights or be annoyed by the endless hassle from touts: Cairo won't bore you.
Fishawi's, a coffee shop that is the other Cairo landmark for tourists.
