Continuing our Kenyan lake tour, we visited Lake Nakuru National Park today. Ever see over one million flamingos cover a lake like a pink raft? The flamingos roost in huge numbers in Nakuru, a soda lake like Bogoria. We pitched camp in the park and enjoyed great bird watching. Besides the flamingos, we saw sunbirds, bee-eaters, woodpeckers, goshawks, weavers, eagles, falcons...an ornithologist's dream.
Run into a flamingo flock and thousands of wings take to air. It's a sure thrill.
Chasing rhinos is also a thrill, but rhinos won't run away.
Eagle's view of Lake Nakuru National Park.
