In our rental car we traveled over 650 kms from Cappadocia, over the backroads of central Turkey and one ancient Roman bridge, to arrive at Nemrut, a place made immortal by the placement of big heads to posterity. Over 2000 years ago, Persians built this religious sanctuary and erected monolithic figures of kings and Gods. |
Nemrut: the land of the Big, Giant Heads. |
The best part of this impressive site: we had it to ourselves. |
