Pickups serve as preferred transport because the Burmese love togetherness or being cramped head to elbow on a bumpy road. Someone took my seat while I snapped this picture so I rode on top with other luggage pieces. People hung off the back and sides and clung to the roof; we carried over 20 people, a few chickens, and one goat. The goat looked comfortable.
