| Hyderabad dreams of hosting the Olympics. As a tune-up, the city leaders dreamed up the Afro Asian games and invited athletes from these continents to compete in a mini-Olympics. Best of all, the games are free and tourists, because none are here, get treated like royalty. When we came into the stadium the stands erupted into applause and autograph seekers hounded us for a signature. We're not sure who the crowd thought we were. Definitely a weird experience. | |||

Once things settled down for
us (and the police came and escorted us to VIP seating to avoid hassles from the
crowd) we managed to watch a few events. | |||
